When people in the Quad-Cities region of Iowa and Illinois need transition, downsizing and organizing assistance, Cut the Clutter Co. and Aging in Place with Grace are who they call. I am the founder and owner of these two companies and I have been a transition and downsizing specialist and organizing professional for the past seven years.
As a former chiropractor, my primary goal for my patients was to assist them in achieving their highest quality of life, and this carries through to my organizing and transition clients. I became a healthcare physician because I care deeply about people, and I have brought that passion to Cut the Clutter Co. and the senior home safety and home assessment aging in place mobile app called Silver Spaces.
I am a former guest instructor at Palmer College of Chiropractic, teaching both in-class and online programs, and have served as an adjunct faculty member at Scott Community College. I have written extensively on the topics of aging in place, downsizing, senior safety in the home and life transition, and regularly appear as a guest blogger on numerous websites.
My company has been featured in the Quad City Times, the Rock Island Argus and the Dispatch. I have been a guest on many nationwide radio shows and appear regularly on KWQC’s Paula Sands Live Show. My company has been featured by CBS News4 for the assistance I provide to people with hoarding issues, as well as the training I do for the social service agencies that work with these clients.
As a keynote speaker and presenter, I enjoy interacting with audiences from all walks of life, offering organizing tips and tricks, new product suggestions, and the ABC’s of the organizing process. Also, I avidly support my community in a variety of ways:
- Member of the International Federation on Aging
- Volunteer for King’s Harvest Pet Shelter
- Special Olympics Volunteer
- Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS)
Previous volunteer work:
- Have served as Board member of Quad Cities Child Abuse Council and the Iowa Chiropractic Society
- Retired Senior Volunteer Program
- United Way Women’s Initiative
- Board Secretary and founder of the Quad Cities Human Trafficking Project
- Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer, serving for the past 20 years as an advocate for abused children
- Red Cross disaster services volunteer
My passion is found in helping clients to help seniors create clean, safe and simples spaces to live in whether downsizing or remaining in their own home. I help them discover their own organizing style, and coaching them on ways to utilize that style to get organized and stay organized. I have helped hundreds of people by creating a relaxed environment that allows my clients to become both inspired and motivated in accomplishing their goals.
